Math Tutoring

The Math Honor Society offers tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays during lunch.

A Lunch math tutoring is in Trailer 10, and B Lunch tutoring is on the second-floor Murphy Building, room 2208.

Math tutoring will be available all semester for those who need help. Tutoring is available for all grades.

Math Honor Society is oriented around service, helping others, and learning math.

The Math Honor Society, also known as Mu Alpha Theta, is a math leadership group looking to inspire those who excel in math, encourage students who enjoy math and create a place for students to join in math-related events.

Members of the chapter at Leesville are also required to be active members of the Math Club, where they participate in math competitions.

Anna Nguyen, a tutor and junior at Leesville, said, “The last time I tutored was maybe last week and there was nobody who came so I was just sitting there doing nothing, but this week I think there were more people coming.”

If you need any help with math, come to get support and raise your grades, and help the Math Honor Society members gain service hours.

Nyguen said, “For signing up for tutoring we’ve only had limited spots of five people per tutoring [session] and it has usually been filled up.”

Tutoring can be expensive. According to Tutorme.com, you can pay anywhere from $25 to $56 per hour for a standard tutor.

If you need a more advanced math tutor, the tutoring will cost even more. Take advantage of this opportunity if you can.
