The power of Powderpuff

The Powderpuff games will take place on Friday, October 17 at 5:00 p.m. The price per ticket for the event is $3.00 with exemptions for players and coaches.

The Powderpuff practices will be held on Tuesday, October 7, Thursday, October 9, Tuesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 16. Any practices held outside the set days will lead to team disqualification. All participants must be present for at least 3 of the 4 practices in order to participate.

Participants in Powderpuff football help grow school spirit and have the opportunity to meet different people in their grade and in other grades. It is a way for the grades to grow as a team and for them to show off their leadership skills.

Any profanity, dirty play or tied flags will result in ejection from the game.

Last year, the seniors won! Juniors lost to Freshman and Seniors won against Sophomores and Freshman.

Devin Miller, class of 2015, said, “Powderpuff is a good experience because I was able to come together with a group of girls I didn’t know and create new friendships. I like sports, but I don’t exactly have time for school sports, so it was nice to be able to play short term.”

In addition to coaching, male students can participate as cheerleaders on a cheerleading squad for the Powderpuff game.
