On the eve of Friday, April 27, Leesville’s 2012 prom court nominees waited to make their debut to fellow prom-goers. At the height of the excitement, seniors Tyler Glass, Brandon Baker, Bri Marino and Quaynese Turner were introduced and welcomed to the center of the dance floor.
These fine candidates were elected by their peers during prom ticket sales, and final votes took place during Pride Period the Wednesday before prom.
As the DJ for the night prepared to announce the king and queen, Emmanuel Shiferaw and Megan Pendergraft, seniors, were chosen from the crowd to crown the winners, who were Brandon Baker and Quaynese Turner.
“It felt great to know that my class appreciates me and feels that I am worthy enough to represent them as the class of 2012 prom king, I was extremely honored,” said Baker.
Turner felt the same way about both her nomination and win. “I really didn’t expect to be nominated, but I definitely wanted to be [nominated],” she said. “And I was just extremely excited when I won, and my friends were happy for me!”
Congratulations to both Turner and Baker on their new titles as Leesville’s 2012 Prom King and Queen!
