On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Leesville hosted its first Volleybros event since before COVID. Nine teams competed for the winner’s title, as well as the chance to play the LRHS Women’s Volleyball team.
Volleybros is a popular high school event. It’s a similar idea to Powderpuff but with a couple of differences: instead of girls playing football with guys coaching, guys get a chance to play volleyball, and girls can coach.
“I really love playing volleyball, and I couldn’t play on the [Leesville] team my senior season, and so I thought that I might as well…I thought it would be fun to get back into the sport,” said Chloe Cragg, senior. Cragg coached the “Volleygoats” along with fellow volleyball player Morgan McCormack, senior.
“I’ve always liked playing volleyball, and I think it was a really fun competitive environment, and I thought in general it would just be a super fun experience to play volleyball with my friends and compete to win,” said Viren Sadhwani, junior. Sadhwani played for “Block Party,” the winning team, with coaches Skylar Atkinson and Cate Oxendine, juniors.
The event featured eight student teams and one teacher team, the “Bell Ringer Set Slingers.” Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the first round of the bracket-style tournament.
The tournament had three rounds, totaling eight games played. The final round pitted “Block Party,” a sophomore/junior team, against the “Sinister 7,” an all-senior team. Despite losing for most of the match, Block Party made an impressive comeback to win the tournament.
As a prize for winning Volleybros, Block Party had the chance to play the LRHS Women’s Varsity volleyball team. Despite coming in first in the tournament, Block Party wasn’t successful in defeating the Lady Pride Volleyball team.
Overall, the 2026 Volleybros tournament was a fun, engaging event for the Leesville community, with players and coaches from this year hoping it becomes a lasting tradition for years to come.

It makes my day better when I listen to a good playlist.
