Powderpuff is an ongoing tradition at Leesville High School and will occur today, Tuesday, October 1 from 5 pm-7 pm.
Powderpuff is an opportunity for females to participate in a friendly flag football competition while males coach and cheer. The game is available for all grade levels; the seniors will play the freshman, and the sophomores will play the juniors, to determine the championship game.
Logan Kaiser, junior coach, said, “I am excited for the chance to coach because I am a football player and I want to help my class win this year.”
Last year (2023), the class of 2025 won the championship game against the class of 2026, leading to a heated competition for this year’s event.
“I have enjoyed playing the past years in Powdperpuff and am especially looking forward to this year as a senior,” said Amanda Leggett, a senior player.
Previously, Leesville cheerleaders, the dance team, and the band were present at the game, but this year, the newly founded guitar club will be in attendance.
In order to participate in Powderpuff, students previously had to attend a meeting and meet deadlines with signup material. If you missed these opportunities this year, do not worry because the game will be open to the public with free admission.
