Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is a fast-food chain that specializes in fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast.

On November 7, 2024, the third Raising Cane’s restaurant in North Carolina opened on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. University of North Carolina Chapel Hill students and North Carolina residents greatly anticipated the grand opening.

Since the opening, plenty of locals have waited in long lines to try Cane’s “craveable chicken finger meals”.

Sawyer Lisk, sophomore, said, “Yeah, it was kind of a long line, but it took me like five minutes because the customer service sped it up really fast.”

One way to avoid the long lines is through ordering ahead on the Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers website or app.

Lila Padden, sophomore, said, “I did the mobile order, so I got in there quick”.

Ordering ahead is a very simple process. Customers have to open the Raising Cane’s app or website, select their Cane’s location, and order. Padden said, “The mobile app is such a better idea than waiting in line”.

Leesville Road High School students have given the newly opened fast-food restaurant mixed reviews. “…it was disgusting,” said Paxton Cruikshank, junior.

Meanwhile, when asked the same question, Lisk said, “Oh for sure; it’s like top-tier fast food”.

Unfortunately, Chapel Hill isn’t around the corner for the Leesville Road High School community.

If you do decide to try Cane’s, Leesville students have suggested their favorite menu items.

Lisk said, “A Caniac Combo is what you gotta order.”

And make sure you try the Cane’s sauce because Mathew Gregory, junior, said, “The sauce was amazing.”

Don’t forget to order these items ahead on the Raising Cane’s website or app if you want to skip the line.
