The first quarter has flown by, and students have more to look forward to in their second semester classes. The second semester starts a few weeks after winter break, on January 23, 2024.
“I think it’s gonna be harder than last semester, but there will also be some fun classes,” said Ryan Mooney, junior. “I’m taking environmental science honors and AP Spanish.”
Mooney said, “I’m taking construction core, except I’m not excited for more calculus.”
Teachers also have to prepare for their second semester.
Mr. Sinor, teacher at Leesville, said, “I’m excited. One of them is my drafting II class, so that is drafting II architecture, so you had to have a prerequisite of drafting I. So, I’m excited to see some of those people coming back for a second round, some of them it’s their third class with me.”
Taking multiple classes with the same teacher can be very fun and makes it easier on the teacher as they already know the student.
Mr. Sinor also teaches second level classes. “Being a second level class, they really want to be there, and they are more creative than my first level that has a little more structure to it,” said Sinor.
Mr. Sinor’s classes are meant to be creative, and he likes seeing student’s creativity.
“It is interesting to see how everybody does something that’s the same requirement but how they go about doing it in their own unique way. So that’s what I’m looking forward to the most,” said Sinor.
All around it seems like both students and teachers are getting excited about the 2nd semester of the 23-24 school year.
