Senior festivities kicked off on August 25 with senior sunrise, senior parade, and chalk, however there is much more celebration to come. In collaboration with Leesville senior class, executive council, and administration, Leesville has created the first ever LRHS Senior Committee. This committee plans to meet to plan monthly activities for seniors.
“There’s a lot of ideas that we are brainstorming. We are thinking of doing like obviously senior sunset to close out the year, and then maybe we have a day where we can like get breakfast… maybe towards the spring time we can have a field day,” said Gabrielle Batista, senior, who is senior class president.
Seniors have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. From the new senior committee to Friday night football games, the class of ‘24 is ready to relax and enjoy their last year of highschool.
“I’m looking forward to enjoying the last full year that I’ll ever be in highschool and just the little things like going to football games … just making the most of our last year,” said Ashton Layh, senior, student body president.
Counselors urge class of ‘24 to mark their calendars with the following information:
- Graduation will come sooner than you expect. Mid-year graduation is Thursday, January 18 at 7:00 PM in the LRHS auditorium. End of year graduation will be held Sunday, June 9 at 12:00pm in the Raleigh Convention Center
- Senior parent night will be held September 5, 6:30 PM in the LRHS Auditorium. Parent night is a great opportunity for parents to be updated with all the information and deadlines for the upcoming year, along with a chance for parents to connect with counselors for personal updates about their child.
3. Senior photos must be booked by November 1.
While senior year may seem stressful, remember to take time to relax and take time to enjoy the year. Graduation will be here before you know it.
