The Jobs for Life program meets twice a week at a local church for unemployed men and women seeking jobs. Three volunteers are playing with children while the adults are attending the Jobs for Life class.

Every Monday and Thursday night through the months of September to November, a group of men, women, and children meet at Millbrook Baptist Church for the Jobs for Life Program sponsored by the Catholic Charities.

Jobs for Life is a global nonprofit organization that engages local churches to address the difficulties and impact of unemployment and poverty. Volunteers are committed to applying biblically based training and to create mentoring relationships to those in need and seeking employment within the community.

The night starts off with volunteers cooking and preparing meals to serve the members of the Jobs for Life program and their children. Dinner is served in a buffet style with a main course, a form of protein, salads, a variety of vegetables, bread, and desserts. After the volunteers serve the members, they all eat together.

The members then attend a class on skills and values that employers seek. Each class is designed to have multiple mentors, people who are currently in the workforce, to meet with each member and answer any specific work related questions or to network.

While the adults are in class, their children between the ages of 2 to 11 are taken care of by volunteers. The older children complete their homework and do education activities before being allowed to play games

The Jobs for Life program unites members of the community, businesses, and churches to come together for support.
