This summer LRHS is going on a trip to Costa Rica. Señor Ross and Señora Wolverton will be joining several Leesville students on their second trip in a row.

This past summer, Ross and Wolverton took students on a trip to Puerto Rico. After a fantastic experience, the students wanted to know if they could go again. So Ross looked into places to travel to during the upcoming summer and now they are going to Costa Rica.

The activities everyone will be taking part in on the trip range from horseback riding to going on a hike and visiting a waterfall. Everyone is so excited for the trip and cannot wait to experience new cultures.

There is also a wide range of students going on the trip. Some students will have graduated high school and completed six years of Spanish whereas another student will have only completed two years of learning Spanish.

Kiara McNeil, a freshman who is taking her second year of Spanish, said, “I want to be able to get to know the people that are going on the trip, learn more Spanish and experience different cultures.”

It is clear that Ross and Wolverton are eager to help students learn more about the Spanish language and culture.

“I always love to see the kids kind of expand their worldview, both in terms of Spanish but also see new places, eat new foods [and] try new things; whether that’s speaking Spanish to little kids or white water rafting, I look forward to watching the students grow,” said Ross.
