The scene is emotional and full of patriotism as Peter Marino, Leesville senior, plays both “Amazing Grace” and “Taps” on the trumpet. Marino was nominated by his band director to play for veteran’s families at Raleigh Memorial Park Monday, November 11.
Marino describes the memorial service as “very emotional.” “An elderly woman who had lost her son in Afghanistan was crying,” said Marino. “I was really glad I could help...it made me feel really blessed to know there are people out there who do that for us.”
