Club Fair gives every student a place to fit in

The Leesville Liasions are sponsoring a club fair that will take place on Thursday, February 17 from 2:30 to 3:30 in the media center. It will give club-seekers more information on ways they can become involved at Leesville. All are invited to attend.

Involvement in school is important, but it is something that not all students think about over the course of their high school career. When trying to decide whether or not to join a club, consider this: Not only do these clubs look good when applying to colleges, they also help to meet new people and learn more about Leesville.

During the fair, each club represented will have a table set up with information to share with anyone who is interested.

There are a variety of clubs at Leesville, including FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Africentric Club, and Key Club. Some require community service hours and others just to attend meetings and listen to what they have to say. Some may be open for anyone to join, and others require qualification.

“With clubs, we aim to find a place for everyone to fit in here at Leesville,” said Mrs. Lyons, the sponsor of the Leesville Liasions.

Leesville freshman were invited to attend a club fair over the summer. It was a good opportunity for freshmen to see what clubs they could join.

The upcoming fair will give them, along with the 175 new students who have enrolled here since last semester, an opportunity to join a club that interests them.
