The Beauty of College App Season

With the first quarter wrapping up, the fall season underway, and November 1 approaching at the speed of light, we must take a moment to honor college application season.

I’m not sure what fall activity I enjoy more — paying $85 on every college application or constantly answering the question “Have you finished your college apps yet?”

There isn’t a day that goes by that my face doesn’t light up as bright as my phone containing another notification to apply for scholarships.

Seniors are blessed to use their AP Lit and Lang skills to whip up 5-10 supplemental essays dedicated to hyping up a school and telling them all the amazing reasons they are the “chosen” college. 250 words of “why” this college supplemental essay isn’t enough, but seniors must prove that they are curious, humble, and responsible enough to earn admission college, like their activities and transcripts can’t speak for themselves.

Jessica Saver, senior said, “No, yeah I really love spending my nights having a staring contest with Common App. Get this: last weekend I got to skip the Fair and Panic Point because I had a date with Google Docs and the desk in my room.”

Tom McBlabber, junior, said, “Pff, there’s just no way it’s that bad. I’m taking APES and pre-calc right now. What could be worse?”

CommonAppHelpLine.com has reported that 89% of students who submit their college applications in time for Early Action are sleep deprived, while only 67% of them reported feeling like they were ready to click submit.

Overall, college application season is a beauty that many high school seniors get to experience in the fall time. Who needs sleep anyways?
