Homecoming is right around the corner and excitement is building for the big week.

This year’s homecoming theme is Turn Back Time.

The Homecoming football game will take place on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. against Athens Drive.

Throughout the week, to celebrate homecoming each day is a different decade with a different spirit them, they are as follows:

• Monday, September 21: No school to honor Yom Kippur
• Tuesday, September 22: 2016- “Throwback SELF-ie”- Pull out all the 2016 accessories and dress as your elementary-aged self
• Wednesday, September 23: 2006- “Y2K YPJ”- Dress in your early ‘00s matching sets- pajamas, athletic sets
• Thursday, September 24: 1996- “Battle of the ‘90s”- Dress in your favorite ‘90s style: hip hop, grunge, or preppy
• Friday, September 25: 1986- “80s Neon Green Out”- Come dressed in your Leesville green
• Saturday, September 26: 1976- “Disco Dance”- Semi Formal Dance

Throughout the week, there will be many events happening.

On Wednesday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m. will be the annual Powderpuff game where girls participate in flag football.

Teams will be based on grade level and every grade is a different color. Freshmen play the seniors, sophomores play the juniors and then the winners play each other.

The Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, September 26 from 7:00-10:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym. A guest form must be completed for non-LRHS students.

LRHS executive council has been hard at work preparing for the big week. Big thanks to them for all their hard work.
