Honestly, life gets pretty stressful being a teenage girl in 2026, but I’ve found the easiest way to bring some good vibes into a bad day is food puns. I am so obsessed with them, and I don’t care how corny it is.
There’s just something so whimsical about sending a text that says “I miso you so much” when you haven’t seen your best friend in a while.
Or passing my friend a sticky note that says “I love you berry much” with a couple berry doodles just to make them laugh (or roll their eyes). They are silly, but they always make people smile, even if forced.
What makes food puns the best is that everybody gets them, even if it takes a few repeats to understand. Food is universal, so the jokes always land. There is a saying that food is the way to a man’s heart. I am not a man, but I can confidently say that food is the way to everyone’s heart, and especially mine (in the form of corny puns).
A good pun is the perfect thing to say when it is silent in a conversation. It breaks the ice, lightens the mood, and reminds me not to take life too seriously.
In a world that can feel way too heavy sometimes, choosing to be corny is basically a superpower. So go ahead and tell your friend they are “one in a melon”, or tell someone “I tiramisu”. Trust me, a little food humor is always the perfect “recipe” for a better day.

It makes my day better to learn hello in a new language.
