Prom season is officially here, and LRHS will be celebrating with a “Night in New York”. On April 25, upperclassmen (and invited underclassmen) will gather at the Crabtree Valley Marriott to celebrate the 2026 prom.
The Junior Council presented the theme choices for this year, including Enchanted Forest, Mamma Mia, Under the Sea, and a Night in New York. Juniors were able to vote on these choices earlier this year.
“I think the prom theme this year is fantastic, and I think it’s something that the students are actually gonna be excited about,” said Maren Uria, junior.
“I think it’s pretty cool. I’ve never been to New York, but I like the vibe,” said Robert Stump, junior.
It is prime time for prom plans and “promposals”. Groups are starting to get together to decide on where they will take pictures and eat dinner. Other students are planning cute promposals for dates and friends.
“We are planning to hopefully go to the Duke gardens, and then we are gonna go to Kanki in a big group of 20 of us, and it’s gonna be so fun,” said Lydia Hall, senior.
“Me and my group, we will be taking photos at the Azalea Gardens. We decided to take photos here, just because we knew it would be a more popular place where many students… will be taking photos,” said Ragine Griffin, senior.
Popular prom dinner spots are Kanki, Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, and various steakhouses. Now is the perfect time to start making reservations, especially if you are going with a big group.
Tickets are now available and will be $55 until March 29, so get them now before the price goes up to $65. No tickets will be sold after April 17, and you must fill out the Code of Conduct Google Form once you buy your tickets. Guests who do not attend Leesville must also fill out a Google form along with the LRHS student they are attending prom with. Contact Ms. Worthey, Ms. Yost, or Ms. Winoski if you have any questions.

Watching a movie makes my day better.
