Check-ins with Senior Students

With graduation slowly coming into view, senior year feels like a mix of all emotions at once. For the Class of 2026, this final year of high school is about reflecting on how far we have come and figuring out where we are headed next. What once felt far away is now right around the corner.

By the spring semester, “senioritis” starts popping up in almost every senior student. Motivations can feel harder to find as warmer weather rolls in and the countdown to graduation gets shorter. After four years of early mornings, long nights of homework and studying, numerous practices and games, and stressful exams, many seniors are ready to cross the finish line.

At the same time, there is excitement in the air. Students are making college decisions and planning spring break trips. Whether students are headed to a university, community college, tradeschool, the workforce, the military, or taking a gap year, there is a shared sense that everything’s about to change.

Nora Arnold, senior, said, “I am most looking forward to the warmer weather and making more memories as high school comes to a close.”

Senior year is bittersweet, so many “last” experiences, last first day of school, last home football game, last high school summer concert, last prom, and many more.
