DICK’S Sporting Goods is a household name for a majority of students here at Leesville. With hundreds of locations around the country, DICK’s is a one-stop shop for everything sports and has a loyal customer base.
This customer base is about to expand even further with the opening of their so-called “House of Sport” at Crabtree Valley Mall, and it will provide much more than your normal DICK’s.
The store will be going in place of the former Sears, which closed back in 2018. Since then, the location has been vacant, meaning that a new store of any kind will be strongly welcomed.
Besides normal sporting goods, Crabtree’s House of Sport will have its own recreational activities built into it, serving as its own miniature sports entertainment facility.
Advertisements across the mall show off the location’s new rock climbing walls and batting cages. As standard with other DICK’s locations, the store will also offer specialized golf services alongside equipment for nearly every popular sport.
Hype is growing around the new location, and many are hoping that it may help further revitalize Crabtree Mall as a whole. “I think it may save the mall. Like, on a Saturday, just saying ‘let’s go get some Auntie Anne’s and hit up the rock climbing at DICK’s,’ that’s gonna be the new thing,” said David Furr, a Junior.
Opening dates are still uncertain, but it seems as if the location will be finished with construction in the coming few months.
It makes my day better when I eat good food.
