The poetry club started up at the beginning of the 25-26 school year. They meet the 2nd​ Thursday of every month from 2:30-3:00pm in room 234.

Many students felt very passionate about poetry and wanted a place to share their passion. If you love poetry and connecting with others, Leesville has a club for you.

Natalia Ceskey, junior and club president, said, “Over the summer, I really fell in love with reading and writing, and I think that poetry is the easiest way to get your message across in such few words. I knew that there wasn’t really a club at Leesville that I could join for that. So, I decided to create one”

Poetry Club is a time to share your work and love of poetry with others who share that same passion.

They plan different activities every month to keep the meetings new and engaging.

Cesky said, “We do various things. At our first meeting, we created poetry journals that everyone can keep with them. And then we have set dates for poetry slams where people can share their poems to the group. We’ve had one so far and it was pretty successful.”

Their next meeting is March 12, 2026 — snacks will be provided.
