Noah Kahan, a folk-pop and indie folk music artist, announced his new 17-track album titled The Great Divide on his Instagram on January 28, 2026. In the caption, Kahan stated, “The music here is my best attempt to delve deeper into the people, places, and feelings that have made me who I am. I am grateful for all of it, for all of you, for listening to them, if you choose to do so.”
The Great Divide will be released on April 24, 2026, and can be pre-ordered and pre-saved now. He also released the album’s debut single, the title track “The Great Divide,” on January 30, 2026. Shortly after, he released the music video for the song on February 1, 2026.
Kira White, junior, said, “I’m really excited. I mean, I only really started liking Noah Kahan because of Stick Season, but he always makes good music, so a new drop only means new songs to add to my playlist.” White said her favorite song from Noah Kahan is either “Northern Attitude” or “Orange Juice,” both songs from his 2022 album Stick Season.
White said, “I have listened to [‘The Great Divide’], and it’s amazing. It still has the same feel as Stick Season, but with a new twist to it. I think [the album] will be similar to his previous [albums], but with more vocals and power.”
Before his upcoming album, Noah Kahan has released three other albums titled Busyhead (2019), I Was / I Am (2021), and Stick Season (2022). He has also released two EPs (or Extended Plays) titled Hurt Somebody (2018) and Cape Elizabeth (2020).
Abby Coughlin, senior, said her favorite Noah Kahan song is “Maine”, from Cape Elizabeth. Coughlin said, “I’m excited about Noah Kahan’s new album. I love going to concerts, and new music typically means [a] new tour, so I hope to be able to see him live.”
Coughlin said she thinks Noah Kahan’s new album won’t vary too much from his previous work, but she hopes there will be some surprising elements to the album.
Coughlin said, “I listened to his new song, ‘The Great Divide’, the morning it dropped, and I loved it. I already knew parts of it from TikTok, but the whole song altogether is beautiful.”
