Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a “fast casual” restaurant. It serves smoothies and tasty breakfast/lunch foods with a tropical vibe. 

LRHS students frequent the location at Brennan Station; its relative proximity to school, combined with good food, makes it popular among those with off-campus lunch passes. 

I’ve visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe several times since the beginning of the school year, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite off-campus lunch locations. 

The most recent time, I ordered a Blimey Limey smoothie and a Buffalo Chicken wrap. The smoothie was $5.19, and the wrap was $8.49; after tax, the total was $14.75. 

For the smoothie, I feel like the price is fairly reasonable; the regular-sized smoothies are 24 oz, and they have a variety of flavors to choose from. However, in my opinion, the wrap was a little overpriced; the food quality could have been better, and it was smaller than I thought it would be for that price. It’s also $1.30 more expensive than the flatbread I normally buy. 

Regardless of the food price, the overall off-campus experience was positive. I ordered my food online with the Tropical Smoothie Cafe app (which is a very important step when considering timing), and it was ready when I arrived at the store. 

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a walk-in store but finding parking can be a bit tricky. If you have A-Lunch, it’ll be a little bit easier because you won’t have to deal with the corporate lunch rush. 

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a quality fast-casual restaurant and a great place for off-campus lunch.
