On December 3-12, Leesville Road High School is hosting a toy drive for Toys for Tots. Donations will be accepted in the media center.
Students can earn up to two service hours for donating new or gently used toys. A donation of two toys is equivalent to one service hour. After making a donation, students should find Mrs. Fields to confirm this donation and receive their hours.
Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization that delivers toys to underprivileged children. Since 1947, Toys for Tots has delivered over 708 million toys around the nation. Each Toys for Tots chapter is responsible for delivering toys to its local community through social welfare agencies, churches, and schools.
With the combined efforts of Leesville students, Executive Council, National English Honor Society, National Honor Society, Community Cares, and Youth for Shelter, Leesville’s student body will be a part of the giving season.
Toy donations can be new or gently used toys for kids of all ages. Usually, toys for 18-month-olds to 2-year-olds, as well as for teenagers, are the most needed donations.
Good toy donations include:
- Books
- Board games
- Lego sets
- Craft kits
- Small sporting goods
- Puzzles
- Dolls
- Art supplies
As December rolls around, the holidays bring an immense amount of financial burdens to families. The holidays are supposed to be filled with joy, kindness, and family time — not stress, budgeting, and guilt for not being able to provide gifts.
Even the smallest donation can make a difference to a child’s holiday season. Be sure to make an impact on your community by donating toys this holiday season.

It makes my day better when people bring me Chipotle.
