The 2025 Chorus Coffee House

Leesville’s Chorus Coffee House is set to be an exciting event where students can showcase their musical talents in a relaxed setting.

“The Chorus Coffee House is a more casual performance for members of Leesville Chorus who would like to sing solos or participate in small ensembles,” said Tonya Dickens, the Choir Director.

Students have the freedom to choose their songs, provided they are school-appropriate, and must audition for Ms. Dickens beforehand to ensure they are ready.

Scheduled for Thursday, November 20, at 6:30 PM in the LRHS cafeteria, the Coffee House offers a $7 ticket that includes access to all performances, beverages, and assorted desserts.

This event also ties in with the recent Butter Braids sale, allowing those who purchased items to pick them up during the Coffee House.

“My favorite part of the Coffee House is just hearing everybody sing,” Dickens adds. It’s so nice to see and hear students sing solos.”

Student performers like Nina Whittington and Ragine Griffin, both members of Leesville’s advanced choir, Capital Pride, are eager to perform.

Whittington will be performing a duet called Ain’t Pretty a Blue with William Harvey and expressed how much she is looking forward to the event.

“I’m just excited to see what everybody else sings,” said Griffin, who plans to sing “Chasing Pavements” by Adele.

Griffin looks back fondly on last year’s event: “My favourite part of the Coffee House last year was everyone being together and, honestly, the community… we had a really good time,” said Griffin.

With such enthusiasm, this year’s Coffee House promises to be a memorable celebration of music and camaraderie.
