The PTSA, which stands for Parent Teacher Student Association, is a group that creates new ideas and improves the school with the help of volunteers. They also manage funding for different activities and big events for seniors throughout the year.
The PTSA held a staff breakfast and organized a senior sunrise for the class of 2026 to commemorate their last year in high school.
Students and parents are encouraged to join the PTSA and be involved.
“There are monthly meetings every month that are open to everybody, so anybody that wants to join or come. They have different parts of the board which focus on different activities or parts of what they do. Everyone is always welcome and their always looking for people who are eager and willing to just help provide stability and various things for the community to thrive,” said Ms. Hardy, staff.
Different parts of the PTSA include School Beautification, fundraisers, graduation or honor roll for student support, school merch, and staff appreciation days, including custodian appreciation day.
The PTSA also makes investments for the school. Invest in Leesville is a campaign where the PTSA gives out grants for teachers. These grants help teachers buy supplies, and teachers can get paid back for the supplies that they bought, thanks to the PTSA
“I think one of the goals that the PTSA has done the past couple of years include their invest in Leesville campaign which is one of the things that has helped the staff the most. They’ve done the grants that teachers can apply for, and now teachers don’t just have to buy stuff out of pocket,” said Ms. Hardy.
The school makes new changes one by one, like art on the walls. The PTSA is always looking out for what’s best for the school and its students. Leesville’s community is growing because of the PTSA, and it helps the school, students, teachers, and staff.

It makes my day better when I see my friends.
