It’s back to school time, and that means time to get new school supplies. Getting school supplies can be stressful, especially when students don’t know what they need. But there are some essential supplies that are necessary and will lead students to success.

One of the most important supplies to prepare students for the first day of school is pencils. Every class requires them and prefers them to be the main source of what a student uses to write.

Aria Wood, sophomore, said, “Pencils are probably the most important tool for school. They are necessary for being successful. I prefer mechanical pencils over regular ones because they never become dull and you are able to refill them with new led so they last longer”

Another necessary supply for going back to school is a notebook. There are plenty of times in class when the teacher will tell students to take out a piece of loose leaf paper and a notebook prepares a student for that, even on the first day of school.

“For the first day of school, I make sure to always have a notebook or two. I feel like those are very important to have because I know it will be used and won’t be a waste of a purchase and most classes require one,” said Kendall Meinig, junior.

Other supplies that can be helpful to feel ready for the first day of school can include a folder or binder to keep loose papers in or erasers to erase mistakes.

Having these supplies on the first day of school can lead a student to being prepared and successful. The first day of school can be very stressful, but getting supplies such as pencils and notebooks to have on the first day can help alleviate this stress.
