What leesville students are doing for spring break

Spring break starts on Monday, March 31, 2025, and school resumes on April 7, 2025. Leesville students are anxiously awaiting the break from school; many students are using the time to travel and spend some much-needed time away.

Students are heading all over, some are going to more popular vacation spots like Florida and the beaches of North Carolina.  “Over spring break, I’m going to go to Florida,” said Adam Sonye, sophomore. Others choose to spend their time at home, relaxing, spending time with family, and catching up on sleep. Whether traveling or staying home, students are looking forward to a recess from homework, the early mornings, and the daily school routine. Many also see it as an opportunity to reset before the last few weeks of the school year and final exams.

Many students are still sad about the fact that spring break was shortened due to the make-up snow day. “I think spring break should be longer than a week because it’s spring. We don’t get to experience a lot of that and we mostly just get summer vacations. So, I think we should get longer,” said Kayla Brancacho, sophomore.

Since this is the last break of the school year, many people think that one week isn’t enough, considering that school can sometimes be a stressful environment, and a hiatus from the daily routine will be much needed for many.

Older students are also using this opportunity to take college tours. “I’m going to be doing a lot of college tours over spring break. I’m going to [tour] Wilmington, Greensboro, and UNC Charlotte,” said Elizabeth Cawley, junior.

Spring break is a great time to visit colleges because students can have the full experience and not feel rushed due to the luxury of time that they have.

Spring break is a great opportunity for students to put a pause on school work and the daily routine and unwind for a few days.  This break will give students a chance to relax, catch up on sleep, and spend time with friends and family without the pressure of multiple deadlines. Whether it’s through traveling or enjoying hobbies, spring break allows students to recharge and have the ability to finish the school year strongly.
