Is sweet or sour candy better on Halloween?

No matter where a teenager goes on Halloween, there will always be candy.

A big difference has always existed between sweet and sour candy. Some sweet candy options such as, candy corn, gummy bears, lollipops, and jelly beans, etc. But on the other side, some examples of sour candy are, sour patch kids, sour skittles, toxic waste, and trolli sour bite crawlers, etc.

When a teenager sees a basket of candy, they always have a preference. But, depending on what you enjoy, everyone typically aims for a certain type of candy they believe will be the best.

Colt Gidley, senior, said he likes sweet candy. “You can eat as much as you want. If you eat too much sour candy it will start to taste bad and hurt your mouth and make your tongue feel weird.¨ For Gidley, sour candy is not as enjoyable as sweet because of the bad experience with the after taste of sour candy.

Noah Higham, freshman, said, “I like the way sour candy tastes better than sweet because it feels good on my tongue and the taste is just more enjoyable.” Higham believes that sour candy is not as boring and the tingling texture on his tongue is less dull than just plain sugar.

Chloe Mast, freshmen, said, ¨I prefer sweet candy because my favorite candy is nerd gummy clusters. Also, I just think sour candy like sour patch kids just are not as good. ¨

Leesville students have a diverse opinion about how they feel about whether sweet or sour candy is better. But, it seems that more people think that sweet candy is better than sour candy.
