Leesville’s theatre department is working hard this year’s play

Leesville’s 2026 fall play, “The Crucible”, is starting to take shape. The show will premiere on November 10 and run until November 14. The show itself is two and a half to three hours long and will be held in the LRHS auditorium.

The technical aspects of the show are slowly but surely taking form. The main set is almost entirely built, and Cue-to-Cue, where all the technical aspects are finalized and polished, will take place on October 31.

Assistant set crew head Emma Benson, junior said, “It’s nice seeing everything come together.”

The production team are the ones who keep all aspects of the show together and running in transition periods like this. They make sure actors are keeping up with their responsibilities, while also working with tech to maintain effective communication about updates or changes.

Because the production team is always involved in behind the scenes work, they are constantly aware of how the show is evolving. Assistant stage manager Dee Onaran, sophomore, said, “I really like seeing the actors become more polished. I really like seeing the lights…knowing some booth kids are up there and they’re all working together to make sure the show can be as good as possible.”

Thanks to all the hard work that both tech and the actors are putting in, Leesville’s second rendition of “The Crucible” is shaping up to be yet. More details about tickets and show times will be available on the LRHS Pride Productions website closer to the show dates.
