Leesville held its annual Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, September 25, 2026.
During fourth period, all the students were sent down to the football field to watch the pep rally. The school schedule shifted due to this event. Students had shorter classes throughout the day, so that students could get all four of their classes in before going to the pep rally.
The cheerleaders and the dancers perform, the marching band performs, Homecoming Court comes out, all the fall and winter sports walk out, teachers have a race with customs on, etc.
Charlotte Davis, JV cheerleader, said, “Our team prepared for the pep rally by having practices every Tuesday and Thursday, combined with varsity to be able to practice for all of our stunts and dances.”
For the cheer team, they had to take a while to be able to perfect all the skills they were showing to the school at the pep rally.
Davis said, “I was very nervous to compete in front of our whole school and the thought of messing up was in the back of my mind.” For Davis, having to show all of her and the team’s skills was very nerve racking to do in front of every high school student.
A member of the band, Matthew Fowlkes said, “It was my first year in the marching band and it was a great experience, but also very stressful and I was nervous I would run into someone.”
All the performances at the pep rally went smoothly and so amusing to watch. It was a very successful event for Leesville.
