On October 15, 2026, the first Rho Kappa meeting was in rooms 117 and 125. Attendance at this meeting was not a requirement but was recommended for new members to learn a little bit about the club.
In room 125, President Katie Camp, senior, ran the meeting with the help of social media and service chair Caleb Reed, senior. They told new and returning members about the service hour requirements.
To remain in the honors society, you must have 10 total hours of service and five of those hours must be civic service.
“Civic hours are anything that are gonna help the community or are related to history,” said Camp, “so anything that helps a teacher or is related to Rho Kappa.”
Camp is excited for this upcoming year and is planning to make some changes.
“I’m excited to change some things up and keep some things the same. I’m going to try to get more service opportunities related to social studies this year,” said Camp.
Members are excited for this year as well. Christina Duduman, senior, joined Rho Kappa because she likes history and wanted to continue her involvement in history classes at LRHS.
“I joined Rho Kappa because I wanted to join honor societies that had to do with subjects that I was interested in, and I’ve taken a lot of social studies classes,” said Duduman.
Duduman thought the meeting went well, she said that the officers got all of the information across quickly and she thinks she is ready for the upcoming year.
Overall, everyone is excited to start the year with Rho Kappa.

It makes my day better when someone compliments me.
