The 2026 Homecoming dance this year is on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The Homecoming football game against Athens Drive Highschool is the night before on Friday, September 25.

 

To start homecoming weekend, several of Leesville’s students are attending the football game Friday evening. The game is a great way for students to show off school spirit and support the football team. 

 

The week leading up to homecoming is spirit week, and students can dress up according to the theme of the day. This year’s theme days are dress as different decades such as 2016, Y2K, 90’s, and 80’s.

 

Spirit week starts on Tuesday, September 22, and the first theme was 2016 “dress as your younger self”. Wednesday was dress in matching sets for Y2K. Thursday is dress in your favorite ‘90’s style. Friday is come in your best 80’s style neon green. 

 

Hudson Babcock, sophomore, said, “[I am] absolutely dressing up for spirit week”. Babcock plans on dressing up for every theme day during Homecoming week .  

 

Popular places students are going to take pictures include Brier Creek County Club, Lafayette Village, and the North Carolina Museum of Art 

 

Bennett Lewis, freshman, said, “[They] are taking pictures at Lafayette Village.” 

 

Many students also enjoy going out to dinner dressed up after taking pictures. Students go to fancy restaurants such as steak houses and other nice restaurants. 

 

This year, many students are not attending the dance held at school. Most students prefer to do something with just their friends or their date, instead of going to the dance. 

 

When asked if she was going to the dance, Emery Moreno, sophomore, said, “No.” Other students interviewed gave the same answer.
