The week of September 21, 2026 through the 25th is the week of Homecoming at Leesville. Many students involved in various activities and organizations around the school have important matters surrounding homecoming to prepare for. Some of which include the dance team, band, Executive Council, and undoubtedly the football team.
Sally Journigan, senior, talks about all of what the Leesville Dance Team is doing to prepare for homecoming. The team has a lot to do, learn, and train for. Journigan said, “Dance team is preparing a dance that we’re going to perform at pep rally, and then we’re also learning new sidelines, and we learn quarterlies, which are dances that we’re doing between each quarter of the football game.”
Lyla Tucker, freshman on Executive Council, plans out the homecoming dance and tailgate. She gets to help decorate and design nearing events. She wrote, “Exec is working very hard to make sure the dance and the events leading up to HOCO are fun and exciting. We have also started working on banners for this year’s tailgate.”
Tyler Simons, sophomore in the band, has to prepare the new members of the team for the busy and stressful homecoming week. Simons said, “Just making sure that the newer people can set a good foundation so that they become better later.”
Homecoming is a very eventful and exciting week, but can also be a bit stressful for those involved. Involved students must prepare for their activities and events to have a fun and stress-free homecoming week.
