On September 14, 2026 Leesville Young Life hosted a successful Color Wars event at 6520 Ray Road at 6:00 p.m. 

Ava Langefeld, senior, said, “I would say color wars is really fun because all Young Life clubs from other schools get to come together. But I also do love fall camp at Windy Gap.”

Since all Young Life clubs participate in color wars, it helps create a Young Life community and a fun time. 

Langefeld said, “I feel like Instagram helps to get people to know about it, and then the leaders try to tell a lot of people about it and get people to come.”

Katie Camp, senior, said, “There’s a lot of planning. We have team meetings and leader meetings before to make sure we know whose roles are here…and we also just make sure that we get a lot of participation and make sure that everybody wants to show up and feels comfortable showing up.”

The Young Life leaders spend time making sure their events will be a success.They do this through meetings and advertising on Instagram. They work to make sure anyone would feel comfortable coming to their events. 

Olivia Carlson, junior, said, “I just love being around so many Christain people, and it’s just a great community to be around. I feel like there’s so many people who just want to have fun.”

Young Life creates a great community at the school, and it’s a great place to try something new and have fun. Young Life’s next event is on September 21, 2026 where the All County Club event will be hosted at 301 Pogue Street, Raleigh.
