LRHS Mock Trial is a club for Leesville students to participate in North Carolina’s annual Mock Trial competition, as well as to improve their public speaking, collaboration, and legal skills. As well as competing in the state competition, LRHS Mock Trial holds an in-school trial during the spring.

Spring trial has ended in a guilty verdict and a win for the prosecution: Attorneys Viren Sadhwani, Rodah Momyani, and Anna O’Brien, and their witnesses Amihr Brooks, Darby Moreschi, and Jack Watson. 

The defense consisted of attorneys Mia Lezcheck, Eva Wilson, and Tessa Byers with their witnesses Kieran Groves, Nola Cannon, and Aoife Ryan.

At their next meeting, mock trial will be electing Eva Wilson’s replacement, as she is graduating. The secretary position will be responsible for making meeting slides, participating in officer discussions, and helping other officers with social media.

Viren Sadhwani, junior, said, “The interest meeting my freshman year gave me an avenue to pursue my interest in law I got from shows like Suits. I’m the vice president; I help run meetings and help newer members practice. You should think about joining because it’s a great opportunity for you to practice public speaking, proper argumentation, and law,”.
