Songs, artists and albums that remain my “most played”

Music is a big part of my life and has been for a long time. I enjoy listening to all different genres of music, but most notably country, indie folk, and pop rock. What I enjoy most about listening to music is the different stories that can be told through song and the different emotions that can be portrayed in a single song.

Some of my favorite artists that I listen to regularly at the moment vary depending on the genre and type of music. My favorite country artists right now include Zach Bryan, Jonas Conner, Megan Moroney, Joshua Slone, Sam Barber, Avery Anna, and Ashley Kutcher. My favorite indie folk artists are Noah Kahan, Tom Siletto, Brenn!, Bo Staloch, and Finn Wolfhard (who played Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix television series Stranger Things). My favorite pop-rock artists are Kevian Kraemer, sombr (despite popular opinion), Johnny Orlando, Thomas Day, Presley Regier, and THE DRIVER ERA (which consists of former late 2010s Disney Channel star Ross Lynch and his brother Rocky).

I also enjoy other genres such as musical theatre, CCM (Contemporary Christian Music), rock and roll, and, surprisingly enough, rap as well. As someone who is heavily involved in theatre and has been for a long time, some of my favorite musicals/musical theatre albums are from musicals such as The Outsiders, Hadestown, Beetlejuice, Hamilton, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (specifically the 2023 Broadway Cast Recording with Josh Groban as Sweeney Todd and Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett).

In terms of CCM artists, recently I have really been enjoying music from Josiah Queen, Forrest Frank, Cade Biers, Michael W. Smith, Jon Reddick, Elevation Worship, and Phil Wickham. I also enjoy rock and roll artists, such as certain songs from artists such as Radiohead, The Killers, Pixies, The Cure, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, and The Mamas and Papas.

Surprisingly, to many other people, I also enjoy listening to some rap music pretty regularly. Some of my favorite rap artists include The Kid LAROI, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Leon Thomas, and Tyler The Creator. And although he technically classifies as a mainly alternative R&B artist rather than a rap artist, I also love Frank Ocean’s music.

Some of my favorite songs at the moment come from a variety of different genres and artists. At the moment, just a few of my favorite songs include “Why Did You Invite Me to Your Wedding?” by Kevin Atwater, “Fear in God” by Sam Barber and Avery Anna, “White Ferrari” by Frank Ocean, “Handgun” by Jake Minch, “Girls” by The Kid LAROI, “Maniac” by Conan Gray and “Adeline” by Joshua Slone.

I love listening to albums because it allows the listener to have a deeper and more personal connection with the artist. I’ve often heard an album being described as like reading the personal of that artist and knowing all of their inner thoughts and emotions.

My favorite albums are constantly changing, especially when I find a new artist to listen to. However, currently some of my favorite albums include all variations of “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan, “Superache” by Conan Gray, “George” by Jake Minch, “Good Riddance” by Gracie Abrams, “Restless Mind” by Sam Barber, “Zach Bryan” by Zach Bryan, and “Five Seconds Flat” by Lizzy McAlpine. McAlpine also has a short film titled “Five Seconds Flat, The Film” that correlates with the album.

Music has always been such a huge part of my life, and I couldn’t imagine a world without music in it. I love listening to music while driving in the car, working on school work, and spending time with family and friends.
