What are National Honor Society applications?

The 2026-2027 school year National Honor Society (NHS) Applications are now open. Applications are open to rising juniors and seniors. Students are only eligible to apply if they have a minimum 3.6 unweighted GPA.

There will be an optional information session in the media center during both lunches on Wednesday April 15.

If you have any questions, please email Ms. Langlois: slanglois@wcpss.net or see her in room 133.

Current members do not have to reapply.

Keeley Price, junior, said, “ I joined NHS because I wanted an opportunity to have my own community of high achieving students, who also really want to get involved in our community and have more outreach.”

To find the application you must join the NHS application canvas: Canvas Page. Follow the instructions posted there and fill out the google doc application. All applications are due by 2:30 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026.

You must get two teacher recommendations and submit up to five forms proving that you serve and lead in the community and one of them must be proof of leadership.

Madeline Carpenter, current president and senior, said, “NHS is a nationally recognized organization, so it has a lot of merit in itself, but also, teachers at the school just know NHS students are held in a higher regard than other students because there’s a lot of honor placed in your academics as well as your character. So, it just kind of benefits you all around.”

Letters with your official acceptance or denial will be sent over the summer.
