Popular concerts in 2026

In Raleigh, venues like Red Hat Amphitheater and PNC Arena are hosting a wide variety of concerts. Artists like Sam Barber, Zara, and Noah Kahn are all coming to Raleigh as part of their tours.

“I’m really excited about this year’s concerts, I’m looking forward to seeing Sam Barber in the summer,” said Laurel Wiglama, sophomore. 2026 is looking to be one of the biggest years for live music in North Carolina, but especially in the Raleigh and Charlotte area. With large venues, popular artists, and a packed schedule, the Raleigh-Charlotte area is becoming more popular for concerts.

Many of the concerts hosted in Raleigh are smaller and more relaxed. This helps the concert feel like a personal experience where fans can feel closer to the artist and more connected to the performance.

Outdoor venues like Red Hat Amphitheater also add to the experience, especially in the spring and summer months when the weather is warm.

However, Raleigh is starting to see some of the more popular artists perform at their venues. Many of the artists coming to Raleigh have gained a large following, especially from younger audiences, which helps boost attendance at local concerts.

Charlotte is known for hosting some of the bigger concerts. At venues like the Spectrum Center and the PNC Music Pavilion, fans can see artists like Bruno Mars and Zach Bryan.

The concerts in Charlotte can often feel like major events with huge crowds and high-energy performances. The venues in Charlotte are often on the bigger side and make it possible for people all over North Carolina to see their favorite artists perform. “I’m going to see Zach Bryan in April with a few of my friends. We are going to drive over and spend the night, it will be a lot of fun,” said Samantha Gould, sophomore.

One of the many reasons concerts have been so popular in 2026 is because of the variety of artists performing in the Raleigh-Charlotte area. It’s easy for fans with different music tastes to find a concert to go to because of how many different artists are performing. You can go from pop to country to R&B to alternative all in one month.

“Me and my friends all like different music, so instead of all of us going to concerts by ourselves, we are going to take turns going to each other’s concerts together,” said Sam Shaw, sophomore.

Most people today go to concerts not only to hear their favorite artist live, but also for the experience. Artists put a lot of effort into the performance itself, like visuals, lighting, and choreography, to make an unforgettable performance for the fans.

These factors make concerts engaging and memorable for fans. Singing along with a huge crowd while watching your favorite artist perform live is all a part of an experience that can’t be replicated through streaming music at home.

For many students, concerts are also a social activity. Going to a concert with friends or travelling to another city, and staying overnight can all add to the excitement. These experiences create memories and give students something to look forward to outside of school, and after their high school career.

Another factor contributing to making concerts more popular in 2026 is the influence of social media. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram allow fans to see photos and videos from previous concerts, which builds excitement and encourages more people to attend. When fans see videos of their favorite performing live, it makes them want to experience it firsthand. Social media also helps artists reach more people more quickly and sell tickets faster.

Ticket availability and pricing also plays a big role in the growing popularity of concerts. While some tickets can be expensive, many venues offer different pricing options, making it possible for more people to attend.

Presales, student discounts, and resale options give fans more opportunities to get tickets. Even though some concerts sell out quickly, fans are willing to go through the extra effort to be able to enjoy the experience.

Concerts give local artists who aren’t as well-known an opportunity to perform in front of a big crowd. This exposure can help smaller artists reach more people and grow their fan base.

Overall, 2026 is looking to be an exciting year of concerts for the Raleigh-Charlotte area. With so many major artists and diverse music genres, it will be easy to find concerts for all fans to enjoy.
