For the last three weeks, LRHS students have noticed something odd about their teachers. On Wednesdays, teachers across the school have been wearing eerily similar outfits, as if following a certain dress code.
“Last week the social studies teachers all had the barrette things in, and the admin were all wearing stripes one day,” said Halle Gibson, senior.
Week one of the Wacky Wednesday outfits had all the Leesville teachers wearing mostly black clothing. Week two saw teachers wearing lots of striped print, which explains why Gibson saw the admin coordinating with each other.
Week three is when most students started to take notice: LRHS teachers all wore some type of headwear to school, be that hats, headbands, etc. This was particularly noticeable amongst the Social Studies teachers; most of the department was wearing almost Regency era “tea-style” hat headbands of vibrant colors.
While this normally wouldn’t warrant suspicion, LRHS teachers have been weirdly cagey about the reasoning behind these group fits. When asked about the motivation behind it, teachers cite wanting to try different styles, supporting their alma maters, or they just dodge the question altogether.
“I asked [Mr. Travagline], and he was secretive about it… I don’t know if it’s just him messing around or if it’s more teachers,” said Gibson.
The abruptness of the matching, coupled with the shrewdness of teachers when asked about it, begs the question: Is this just fun and games, or is there something deeper going on?

It makes my day better when I listen to a good playlist.
