On November 17, 2025, Jake Minch performed at the Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC, as part of his “More George on Tour” tour with Darryl Rahn as an opener.
Jake Minch is a 23-year-old alternative/indie artist from Monroe, Connecticut, who has amassed 158.1k monthly listeners on Spotify since 2023.
Minch first began releasing music in 2023 with his song “Handgun” and shortly after released his debut EP “How Many” the same year.
In 2025, Minch released his debut self-titled album, George, featuring popular songs such as “Fingers and Clothes”, “Changed Things,” and “Drawing a Tattoo.” He has also released collaborations with Grace Enger on their song “Good Stuff” and Kevin Atwater on his song “Jacob Killed a Cat (Reimagined)” as part of Atwater’s 2024 EP “Downers Grove (Reimagined).”
I attended the concert on Monday and was even lucky enough to get the VIP experience. This included a meet-and-greet with Jake Minch, a question session, and an exclusive soundcheck experience. He was incredibly nice and easy to talk to. I spoke to him about music, school, and college.
Later, I met with a friend who had attended the concert with general admission. Genesis Mejia, senior, said, “I thought [the concert] was a great, fun time. It was a place of community, and everyone was here for the same person, and it was great getting to make friends, and it was great to talk to people.” Mejia said her favorite songs that he played were “For Leaving” and “Twice”.
The venue was quite small, as it was standing room only. However, I enjoyed this venue much better than I did some other ones, like the Red Hat Amphitheater. I preferred this smaller venue because the artists were able to interact with the crowd more, and I got to talk to people around me and get to know them on a more personal level, which is harder to do at a larger venue where everyone is more spread out.
Mejia said, “I really loved just, like, talking to new people waiting in line, honestly, or like waiting for an artist to come out, that was really fun. Meeting all these people was just great to have new friends, you know, and who have shared similar experiences. [I also enjoyed] seeing the artist live, that was a great moment.”
Mejia previously saw Jake Minch in Washington, DC, back in August of 2025 as part of his “George on Tour” tour with Hana Bryanne as an opener. She said if he were to go on another tour, she would absolutely go to see him again in concert, and I could not agree more.
Some of my favorite songs that Minch played at the concert were “Handgun” (one of my personal favorites of his), “Say Uncle,” and “Whose You Are.”
At the concert, I bought a vinyl of his album George and a signed tour poster. I honestly wanted all the merchandise, but unfortunately, it was just too expensive to buy everything I wanted.
This was by far the most fun and definitely my favorite concert that I have ever been to. As I stated earlier, I would one hundred percent see Jake Minch in concert again the next chance I get. I took lots of pictures and videos at the concert so I’d remember the great experience that I had.
