LRHS women’s soccer workouts

It’s that time of year again! Women’s soccer workouts started on Wednesday, November 19, 2025!

To participate in workouts, you must complete and approve your dragonfly. Workouts will be from 2:45 to 4:15 on the upper practice fields behind the tennis courts.

The head coach, Cooper Paiva,  has also said that you need to bring tennis shoes, cleats, water, and shin guards to every workout. Returning players also need to wear their practice gear from last year.

Workouts are technically optional, and you don’t need to be there to make the team, but it is strongly recommended because there is a low chance that you will make the team without participating in workouts.

“Your chances of getting on the team are better if you go to workouts,” said Lyla Eisner, junior.

Eisner was on the varsity team last year, and she hopes that the team works well together this season, as it is a completely new group of people.

Workouts mostly involve intense conditioning and scrimmaging, which can be hard for some players to get through.

Maggie Walter-Welsh, sophomore, was on JV last year and gave some advice for incoming players who have never gone through workouts before. “They’re gonna be hard. It’s gonna suck, but you’ll get through it.”

Katie Fuhrer, junior, is another returning player who has been on varsity for the past two years. She hopes to win the conference again with the team.

Fuhrer’s advice for new players is to get to know people and have fun. “Be open to talking to new people and get to know everyone. You should also work as hard as you can,” said Fuhrer.

Everyone is very excited about the start of this season and can’t wait to meet everyone.
