How old is too old Trick-Or-Treating

Halloween is one of the most favorite holidays for kids, mainly for two reasons: dressing up and candy. Everyone loves walking around with their friends and knocking on doors to get free candy, but as we get older, that tradition starts to go away.

Kids either stay at home or dress up to go to Halloween parties. Everyone celebrates Halloween differently, but there’s one question. How old is too old to go trick-or-treating?

Usually, around the start of age twelve and up is when kids start to grow out of trick-or-treating, the age where kids have no desire to go out anymore. A lot of teens think it’s childish to still be dressing up, but some teens don’t think so.

“I never think you can be too old or too young to trick or treat, even when you’re older. It’s fun to have those core memories with whoever you are with and to walk around and enjoy the moment…” said Aiyana Blue, junior.

As you get older, it can be hard to find time to trick-or-treat, so having those important moments with your friends can be the best way to have the most fun and make the most of Halloween.

While all ages participate, Halloween is mostly seen as a children’s holiday, and some teens think it should stay that way.

“I think there is a certain age limit and age range for trick or treating because trick or treating was originally for little children to go out and dress up…” said Jada Washington, senior.

It’s also easier for adults to just go out and get candy themselves rather than walking around for it. “Adults could possibly decide if they want to participate in trick or treating, but they also have the choice to just buy their own candy,” said Washington.

Whether you’re young or old, trick-or-treating is a fun way to get out of the house and enjoy time with family and friends while enjoying sweet treats.
