The exciting PTSA senior events for the Class of 2026

The Leesville PTSA hosts monthly events for seniors that celebrate the Class of 2026. So far, they’ve hosted Senior Sunrise and an advisory ice cream sundae bar.

The PTSA started hosting these events for the Class of 2024, creating a new tradition for Leesville students.

Beth Rossen, Vice President of the Leesville PTSA, said, over email, “When Mrs. Jacobs started at LRHS, one of her initiatives was to really celebrate the Class of 2024, as they had missed most of freshman and sophomore years of “normal” high school due to COVID… The PTSA jumped on board as we want to support our students and celebrate their successes.”

The activities remind seniors of how far they have come, and allow them to appreciate the connections they have made throughout high school.

“Senior Sunrise was very fun. I loved getting to see my friends, some of which I hadn’t seen all summer. It was so fun getting to start senior year surrounded by my best friends,” said Bella Duarte, senior.

“It was nice to have a space with people only in our grade just to socialize,” said Ashelynn Justice, senior.

Senior year can be stressful, exciting, and full of emotions, so the PTSA events are a great way to appreciate seniors and make them feel a bit more at ease about the future.

“Being a senior honestly feels surreal. It is very exciting knowing that next year around this time I will be in college and going on new adventures,” said Duarte.

The PTSA will host senior events monthly for the rest of the year, with a Thanksgiving themed activity coming up on November 12.

“We have monthly celebrations for the rest of the year, including a special Thankful for Seniors event in November, a 100 Days to Graduation Breakfast, and Senior Sunset to wrap up before graduation,” said Rossen.

Seniors, be sure to thank the PTSA volunteers for their work in creating fun experiences to celebrate the Class of 2026.
