Reveiw: Leesville first semi-formal Homecoming dance

The 2025 Homecoming Dance was a huge success with about 500 tickets sold. The theme, Luau at Loonieville, allowed for tropical decor and a Hawaiian touch.

In previous years, the Homecoming Dance was casual and took place directly after the football game, but by popular demand, the Executive Council turned it into a semi-formal event. The dance was on October 11, 2025, the Saturday after the Homecoming Football game.

The Executive Council spent weeks planning, buying, and preparing decorations. Several volunteers also helped the day of to put all the decorations in place.

Although the night of the dance was a triumphant success, the Executive Council faced some challenges during preparation. “It was hard to convince people of how amazing it was going to be before they could see it for themselves. But in the end…their reactions on the night of the dance made it all worth it,” typed Mrs. Fields, Executive Council Advisor.

The event spread from the lobby to the breezeway doors that connect the high school and middle school. The large space meant plenty of room for conversing and taking pictures. “I mostly enjoyed just spending time with my friends and my date, it was just a fun time,” typed Jayden Ewing, junior.

Thanks to all the help and support from students, parents, and staff, the dance had great reviews and next year’s will be bigger and better.
