Leesville’s football team is still coming down from the high of winning their last two home games of the 2025 season. The Leesville community takes football season very seriously and many students try to attend every game.
The first home football game on August 29, 2025 had a “Hawaiian Out” theme, and the second game was on September 5, with a “Military Out” theme. Game themes are a big part of high school football tradition and some are more popular than others. Brooks Tyner, freshman, said, “…the red, white, and blue…I think that one’s probably my favorite [theme].”
Each season, new freshmen, some of whom have been to many games with older siblings or parents, show up, and it’s their first home football game in the student section — meaning they’re new to the traditions, expectations, and etiquette.
Even though student section etiquette is reviewed multiple times through social media, assemblies, and even teachers, not all of those in the stands respect the rules. Tyner said, “I saw a lot of people that just kind of left trash, like bottles and chip bags and stuff.”
Many upperclassmen have been attending the football games for years and have adopted traditions of their own. Some seniors will hang out before the game and carpool as a group, and others have traditions they do after every game. Aiden Fiander, senior cheerleader, said, “Taco Bell, after almost every game, yeah, it hits.”
Leesville’s football season is no joke and contributes to a lot of the school’s spirit and pride. Students, parents, and staff are excited to represent our school at all the games to come.

It makes my day better when I park well.
