Do Students like A or B Lunch Better?

Leesville Road High school has two separate lunch periods to accommodate the amount of students. Students with A lunch eat from 10:30-11:06 am. Students with B lunch eat from 12:07-12:42 pm. Students’ third period classes determine the lunch period they get.

The students have differing opinions on which lunch is better. A lunch is earlier in the day but is it too early to be considered lunch? B lunch is later but is waiting, practically all day, to eat worth it?

Students with A lunch tend to complain about how early the lunch is. Many say it feels more like a late breakfast than lunch. The timing makes the rest of the day feel unnecessarily long.

Grayson Groom, senior, said, ¨I have A lunch. [I like] absolutely nothing. It´s 10:30 in the morning. That´s not lunch, that´s a late breakfast.¨

The students like B lunch better because it is truly lunch time, and there is only one class after it. The only downside is that it feels very late in the day, making all of the classes in the morning feel much longer.

Many students prefer B lunch to A lunch because even though B lunch makes the morning feel a little bit longer, A lunch makes the entire day feel prolonged.

Clara Hook, sophomore, said, ¨I have B lunch. I like that at the end of the day I only have one class left after lunch…A lunch makes the whole day feel 12 times longer.¨

Leesville does A and B lunches to allow for less chaotic and overwhelming lunches. Opinions on which lunch is better vary among the students.
