The LRHS spring dance concert

From May 21-22, the LRHS beginning, intermediate, proficient, and Dance Ensembles performed their final show of the year, their spring concert.

Each level of dance classes works together to choreograph and perform solos, duets, and large group dances.

Fiona Bennear, senior Dance Ensemble student, said, “It’s really bittersweet to have performed my last show at LRHS. I joined dance my Freshman year, and this year I was able to choreograph dances and perform my own solo.”

LRHS students are given creative freedom to make the concert unique and exciting through student-led choreography.

Jaidee Hernandez, senior and Dance Ensemble member and National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) officer, worked to choreograph many dances in the show. “I love choreographing dances and getting to work with other dancers to make meaningful dances for myself and all of the dancers.”

The concert opened with “Last Dance” by Donna Summer, performed by the NHSDA and concluded with “We Are The People” by Empire Of The Sun, performed by the senior dance Ensemble team.

At the finale of the show, each senior was honored with photos of current and baby photos as well as a slide dedicated to what the seniors’ post highschool plans are as a part of a senior slideshow.

The LRHS Spring Dance performance served as a meaningful and reflective finale to the school year.
