Exciting Senior year traditions at Leesville

LRHS seniors take pride in their annual traditions. These traditions include Senior Sunrise and Sunset, Senior Skip-Day, Senior Pranks, decorating crowns, and more. The activities at Leesville strictly reserved for seniors give them a sense of accomplishment and unity as they end their high school journey.

For a lot of seniors at Leesville, their last year is about soaking up every moment with their friends and loved ones before a new chapter begins. “I really like doing a lot of things with my friends, like, I feel like senior year you really appreciate all the time you get to spend together,” said Nyah von Haam, senior.

Most traditions at Leesville are near and dear to many seniors, and most take every opportunity to be a part of it.

“I really want to do the senior prank. I’ve done senior skip-day. I’ve also been to almost all of the football games, so I’ve just been cherishing the last of my moments,” said Valeigh Houser, senior.

Some senior traditions give seniors the means to celebrate their youth and enjoy the moments they have left with friends. Senior Skip-Day is a great example of one of those traditions, as the entire senior class skips school and spends time with friends and family.

All seniors spend the day differently, but for everyone that participates, it’s a blast.

“Me and my friends did a water balloon fight…we used like 800 water balloons, and it was the most intense water balloon fight,” said Sean Colbert-Lewis, Jr., senior.

While many seniors take traditions very seriously, others are just ready to be done with high school and don’t care to partake. But no matter someone’s situation or perspective, senior traditions at Leesville are always there to make the final stretch of someone’s high school adventure a little more memorable.
