Music is very popular among the students at Leesville Road High School. Many students keep their AirPods in throughout their day
Students use it as a tool to help them throughout their day. Music can help them focus in class and calm down stress and anxiety.
Evan Eaton, sophomore, said, “I am always listening to music. I love to use music throughout my day… It helps me focus in class and get my work done.”
Some students feel like music is an escape. It helps them deal with emotions and calm down stress.
Kimora Page, freshman, said, “I always have my headphones on and am listening to music all the time. It gives me my own personal space where I can just escape from everyone else and get what I need to do completed.”
In Leesville, there are some teachers who do not allow students to listen to music, regardless of students’ grades increasing, showing that music benefits students’ studying and helps improve stress and focus.
“I have a class that’s stressful and has a heavy workload, and that teacher doesn’t allow music. Music helps me focus and calm down my stress, so by not being able to listen to music in that class, I struggle to concentrate,” said Eryn Andruchowitz, sophomore.
Overall, music is a common tool students use to improve focus, reduce stress, and support studying.
