The 2024–25 school year is finally winding down for all Leesville students, but it’s an especially meaningful time for the seniors. After four years of high school, their journey is coming to an end.
Graduation is set for Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the Raleigh Convention Center. The ceremony starts at 2:00 p.m. Each graduate is issued nine tickets for guests to attend the commencement (graduation) ceremony. The graduate does not need a ticket, but all guests regardless of age are required to have a ticket to enter.
The dress code for graduation is pretty strict. The basics for everyone include the cap, gown, hood, and tassel. But beyond that girls must wear a dress or skirt that does not extend beyond the length of the gown. If they choose to wear pants, they must be dark, and everyone should wear primarily dark shoes.
The guys must wear a white collared button-up shirt, with dark pants, dark socks, and dark dress shoes. Per Wake County policy, decorating caps is not permitted for students.
Important Upcoming Dates
Thursday, June 5, 8:30 am
On Thursday June 5 at 8:30 am senior assembly will be held. All seniors should attend and meet in the main gym. Some things covered are reviewing and practicing processional, diploma distribution, and the general flow of both senior assembly and graduation.
Friday, June 6, 8:30 am
Senior assembly is on Friday, June 6 starting at 8:30 am. All seniors must report to their designated line-up location no later than 7:45 am, either to the auxiliary gym or the auditorium. The assembly itself is held in the main gym. Seniors will walk through the Leesville middle and elementary campuses after the ceremony. A picnic will also be available exclusively for seniors after in the stadium.
Thursday, June 12, 5-7 pm
The Graduation reception is set for Thursday, June 12, from 5 to 7 pm. All seniors must have filled out the class of 2025 senior survey or they will not be allowed to pick up their graduation tickets at the reception. The deadline for the survey is June 6. The reception will occur in the auxiliary gym and the cafeteria.
Friday, June 13, 7-9 pm
Senior sunset is on Friday, June 13 starting at 7 pm in the Leesville stadium. The PTSA has also provided Kona Ice for the graduates.
Sunday, June 15, 2:00 pm
Again, graduation is on Sunday, June 15 at the Raleigh Convention Center. It starts at 2 pm, but graduates are asked to report to the backstage seating area at 1:00 pm.
While the end of the year can be incredibly busy, keeping up with important dates and staying informed ensures you won’t miss out on big events.
