Was your AP exam studying successful?

The weeks May 5-9 and May 12-16 were the weeks of AP exams. Students take these exams to get a college credit for the AP course. Many students took AP classes and tested, but how many feel like they properly prepared for their tests and feel confident about their test scores?

For students who took multiple AP classes, managing studying for these exams can get overwhelming, because all these exams fall right near one another. It can be hard to study for all these exams and feel prepared for them all.

Kendall Meinig, sophomore, said, “This year I took AP Gov and AP Human Geo. I feel okay about my exams but I feel like I could have studied more than I did… I mostly just rewrote down notes I already had, but to prepare well next time, I feel like I could do more review and practice tests to be able to see what I actually know.”

Another struggle a student can have with preparing for AP testing is if they had an AP course in the fall semester which can lead to students forgetting a lot of material by the time exams start.

“I found it challenging to recall some content from the AP classes I took in the fall,” said George Shrager, sophomore, “but I feel like since I decided to focus on studying more for the exams for the courses I took in fall I was successful and prepared for my exams.”

Studying for AP exams can be stressful, but learning from past studying experiences and finding a studying strategy that works for you is extremely beneficial.
